Patient: How to Install Secure Video Client on Windows computers

Please follow the steps below to download and install the Secure Video Client desktop application. The desktop app will allow you to complete online video appointments from your Windows desktop or laptop computer.

Please note: if you are having difficulties, or if you prefer not to download the Secure Video Client desktop app please click Join Video Session at the time of your scheduled appointment and then click "click here to join now via web browser" at the bottom of your screen.

There are 2 ways to download the Secure Video Client app:

Option 1: Download the desktop app in advance of your next online video appointment. (Recommended.)

1. To download the desktop app in advance of your next online video appointment, please log into your account and click "test my webcam and microphone" in the bottom left corner of the screen. Follow the steps onscreen and click to download the app when prompted.

2. You will be prompted to finish the onboarding steps in order to download our Secure Video Client application. Click on "Next Step".

3. In this next step, you will be prompted to install the application. Click on 1) Click here to download the Secure Video Client

3. The desktop app will begin to download, this may take a minute or two. Click the download in the bottom left corner to open.

4. Follow the steps on screen to install the desktop app. Please keep clicking "Next" until you hit the "Finish" button.

Please click on "Yes" to allow the change in your device

5. After finishing the installation, please click on "I was able to install. Next step" where you first click on 1)Click here to download the Secure Video Client

6. You will have the opportunity to "Open the Test window" and ensure everything is working as it should be. Just follow the steps onscreen!

7. After you have opened the "Secure video client" application and was able to see yourself as well as the green line when you're talking, please confirm "Yes" to the 2 statements that you first saw on the "Confirm test results" page.

Please do not forget to close the Secure Video Client application after testing by clicking on the Red hang up button or the exit button. 

8. At the time of your next online video appointment, log into your OnCall Health account by following the Visit your Account link in any of the e-mail reminders you have received from support@oncallhealth.ca and click Join Video Session

9. You will be prompted to open the Secure Video Client application, please click on "Open Secure Video Client"

10. Complete your online video appointment as scheduled. During the appointment, you will be able to share file attachments and text messages through your web browser.

 11. When finished, be sure to hang up and/or quit the Secure Video Client desktop app. The app must be closed between appointments, and will relaunch the next time you click Join Video Session.

Option 2: Download the desktop app at the time of your next online appointment.

1. At the time of your scheduled appointment, click Join Video Session.

2. If you have not downloaded the Secure Video Client desktop application in the past, or if you are unsure, click "Click here to download the Secure Video Client."

4. The desktop application will begin to download, this may take a minute or two. Click the download in the bottom left corner to open.

5. Follow the steps on screen to install the desktop app. Please keep clicking "Next" until you hit the "Finish" button.

6. The Secure Video Client  desktop application has now been downloaded. Return to your preferred web browser to click "Click here to join your video session"

7. You will be prompted to open the Secure Video Client application, please click on "Open Secure Video Client"

8. You have now joined your online video appointment. If you are the first participant to join, do not close the window, simply wait for additional participants.

You will have the ability to share file attachments or text messages from your web browser.

9. When finished, be sure to hang up and/or quit the Secure Video Client desktop app. The app must be closed between appointments, and will relaunch the next time you click Join Video Session
