Use this article if you are having trouble with the Secure Video Client due to firewalls or anti-virus software

Guide 📖

When you have a firewall or antivirus software installed on your computer, it may prevent the Secure Video Client application from launching.

After downloading and installing Secure Video Client, you will be prompted to launch a test video session. This is to verify that the software is installed and working properly on your computer.

Need to Download?

If you're not there yet – still need to download, install and test the Secure Video Client software, please refer to this guide

Secure Video Client Application

In some instances, especially when launching the Secure Video Client for the first time, you may get a little popup or an error message from your firewall or antivirus. No biggie! Just make sure you choose the "allow" option so Secure Video Client has permission to run on your device.

Your webcam and microphone might also need a nudge. The firewall or antivirus could prevent your webcam and/or microphone from launching or being accessed by the Secure Video Client. As above, please choose the "allow" option for them too.

Going the Extra Mile

If the Secure Video Client is still not launching after installation, or the program launches but you are not able to see yourself, you may need to go into your computer’s firewall or antivirus software and ensure Secure Video Client is not currently on the list of blocked programs.

For a little extra guidance, we've lined up some links below. They'll show you how to tweak the settings on some of the most commonly used firewall and antivirus programs. This way, you can give Secure Video Client the green light it deserves to run smoothly:

Windows Defender (Windows antivirus/firewall)
Bit Defender
Mcafee Firewall
