Overview
Here’s a guide on general connectivity tips to ensure you have a smooth connection during your Video Appointment.
Before Your Appointment: Preparing for a Smooth Connection
-
Close Unnecessary Programs: Before you start your video call, it's a good idea to close any other programs or applications on your computer. This frees up resources and ensures a smoother experience.
-
Manage Internet Usage: If others are sharing your Wi-Fi connection, ask them to avoid streaming content during your appointment. This helps maintain a strong connection quality.
-
Optimize your Position: If possible, sit closer to your Wi-Fi router. Being in proximity can enhance your connectivity and reduce the chances of signal interruptions.
-
Try Ethernet Connection: If moving closer to the router doesn't improve your connection, consider using an ethernet cable to directly connect your computer to the router. This can provide a stable and faster connection.
Troubleshooting Connection Issues
If you're still facing connectivity challenges, don't worry. We've got some steps to help you get back on track:
-
Application Reinstallation: If you are using a mobile device, remove the "OnCall Health" mobile app and then reinstall it.
-
Browser Option: join your session using a reliable web browser (i.e. Google Chrome or Firefox). Sometimes, switching browsers can improve connection stability.
-
Switch Devices: If possible, consider switching to a different device for your appointment. Using a different computer or mobile device might provide a more reliable connection.
A smooth connection ensures that you get the most out of your video appointment experience.
