How to choose between different devices on the Secure Video Client application

If you have more than one microphone or camera devices on your computer and would like to choose between them, please follow the instructions in this article. 

 

Please note that Secure Video Client is the desktop application, you will not be able to install this on your mobile device. Hence, you will not be able to choose between different camera or microphone devices on a mobile device. 

 

Secure Video Client is currently open

1. Navigate to the top of the screen where you can see the word "Secure Video Client".

2. Choose "Devices" then choose the type of device you want to use:

  • Camera will allow you to choose the camera device you wish to use.
  • Microphone will allow you to choose the device to hear your participant.
  • Speaker will allow you to choose the device to which you will speak and the other participant will be able to hear you.

3. Select your desired device in the dropdown list of devices and you are good to go.

Secure Video Client is NOT currently open

1. After logging into your account, you will be able to see your name on the top right corner with a dropdown button, click on the button final_5e554837bdfbf10016792d9c_685476.gif


2. Click on Test your webcam and microphone.

3. You will be prompted to onboarding process with 4 steps that you have completed before.

4. Follow the instructions on the screen. When you’re in step 2- Installing the Application, please note that you do not have to click on 1) Click here to download the Secure Video Client since you have already downloaded and installed it. Click on “I was able to install. Next Step”

5. In step 3- Testing the Application, click on Open the Test Window and click on Open Secure Video Client when prompted

6. Navigate to the top of the screen where you can see the word "Secure Video Client".

7. Choose "Devices" then choose the type of device you want to use:

  • Camera will allow you to choose the camera device you wish to use.
  • Microphone will allow you to choose the device to hear your participant.
  • Speaker will allow you to choose the device to which you will speak and the other participant will be able to hear you.

8. Select your desired device in the dropdown list of devices and you are good to go.

If you are still having issue with the desktop application, consider switching to a different device or join your session via browser
