Syncing With External Calendars

Overview

It's easy to integrate your appointment calendar with your Google Calendar, Office 365, or Microsoft Outlook calendars by following the steps below.

With our calendar sync feature, you can now populate events created via OnCall platform in an external calendar. Additionally, if your organization is set up with patient self-scheduling, you can ensure that events created in your external calendar will not be booked over. The time blocks slotted for events created via the external calendar will remove availability shown on the patient booking page.

The current calendar integration feature supports the following

  • Populate events created via OnCall to the connected calendar
  • Click on a redirect link from the external calendar to access the appointment on OnCall
  • Edit appointment details from the external calendar, which will impact the events in OnCall platform (appointment time, date, duration and cancellation of the appointment)
  • Ensure that patients on the booking page cannot book over events created in the external calendar

The current calendar integration feature DOES NOT support the following

  • Set your booking availability from your external calendar
  • Events created via an external calendar to be populated on OnCall’s calendar
  • External calendar events will prevent a provider from booking over that time slot when manually booking an appointment within the platform

Guide 📖

Sync with Your External Calendar 🗓

Log into your account and click on your name in the top right-hand corner. Select Account settings.

 

Click on the Calendars tab and click Connect.

You'll be shown a list of compatible email calendars, select the one you'd like to sync with and login to your account

You will then be prompted to allow OnCall Health to access your external calendar. Click Allow.

Once you have allowed the calendar to sync, you will be greeted with the following message. This indicates that the sync has been successful.

NOTE: 

  • The first time you sync your calendar, it may take up to 1 hour to take effect.
  • If your calendar doesn't sync the first try, please try again.
  • Appointments that were created in the past will not be synced to the external calendar. Only appointments created from this point on will be added to your external calendar. 

Disconnecting with Your External Calendar 🗓

Log into your account and click on your name in the top right-hand corner. Select Account settings.

 

Click on the Calendars tab and click Disconnect.
